I think about this quote all the time. It gets truer all the time. How come I can only relate to dead people?

I feel like I am living my life within the flip notes of history and it pains me to know every man like me to ever exist suffered just like this in their own day. I wonder if our people will be remembered as we remember the Roman Empire, as if we never were. It is a mere miracle that I was born in the gap generation created by the internet, and only within this 15 year period before the Government was able to seize control of the internet could someone as desocialized as me even come to be. Everyone born before me is propagandized by 9/11 and everyone born after me by the George Floyd massacre.
