how can u like talking to people and socializing and being seen but still be isolated

i don't like talking to people or socializing, i just WANT to be able to. and also i'm on a break from college and everybody in this city SUCKS

90% of the time when someone tries to talk to me i don't care about what they're saying and don't know how to respond because there's not a single thing i can think of since what they're saying is pointless. it's not that i refuse to respond, it's that i literally do not have any thoughts forming in my brain to say something back. it took me years to figure out how to respond to "how are you"
