i watch all video essays on 2x speed or more. i do feel my skin crawl a little bit listening to tim rogers do his "cool narrator" voice at 1x speed.regardless, he is a disarming person to me. the fact that he's over 40 years old adds to this: his life is basically already over, and he's just reflecting on it, which is completely understandable and natural. i would be happy to watch jeffiot's life fall apart (or his channel get terminated or something) because he is a scheming leftoid social climber, even though he (ostensibly) has the same oversharing heart-on-sleeve empath personality type as tim rogers. to me tim rogers is like a ghost from 2010, not even a real person. "truck heck" is not a real game.something kind of interesting that tim rogers has said was that every game he's made has been a sterile concept game devoid of personal expression, characters, or emotion (e.g., "videoball"), and he kind of wishes he had instead created something like undertale. i don't really know what to make of that considering the contradiction between this idea and the fact that his video essays are ultra-self-indulgent autobiographies.
