It's the only CRPG I played with such a strong focus on consistent atmosphere, and yes, it's a dark one, but it has stayed in my mind for long. Despite the existence of companions (all useless except for the dog), it's one of the few examples of the genre that imbue the player with a feeling of unescapable loneliness. The soundtrack is top notch and works toward magnifying all those points, even if some claim it's plagiarizing Aphex Twin. That the game is short and not centered around mechanical autism works in its favor; all other CRPGs overstay their welcome, and CRPG fanatics want it that way to get endlessly lost in them.
