The Wizard of Oz (Book 1)3/5 - I liked itit was a nice read— by that I mean that it was enjoyable, but that it didn't have the prose quality of a great children's book, like Alice in Wonderland. It reminded me of epic poetry in the way that the hero will experience a compounding of ridiculous events that he readily accepts, which was fun. I think I'll read the next two books, though Baum never planned on making further Oz books, so, if they aren't as enjoyable as the first, I won't be continuing the series.
