Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Sunday that the US is talking with its European allies about banning oil imports from Russia as a means to cut off a lucrative revenue stream for President Vladimir Putin to fund his war in Ukraine.

“When it comes to oil, Russian oil, I was on the phone yesterday with [President Biden} and other members of the Cabinet on exactly the subject, and we are now talking to our European partners and allies to look in a coordinated way at the prospect of banning the import of Russian oil while making sure that there is still an appropriate supply of oil in world markets,” Blinken said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

We are continuing to slide into this downward spiral of our country. This is something that is real and gets in the face of the American. When you’re spending a day’s pay on going to and from work that starts to disturb your comfort. It makes you want to change how things are going. And if it doesn’t, it does add to the overall tension of the society.

McDonald’s became the latest western company to announce it was pausing its operations in Russia, after facing a backlash from social media users for not taking a stand on the war in Ukraine. Earlier on Tuesday, Ukraine’s foreign minister, Dmytro Kuleba, issued an appeal to international corporations to stop doing business in Russia.

The entire world is just hurting Russian people now. For being born in Russia they are being completely deprived of everything. This is sick. This is way worse than the holocaust. What did the average Russian family do to deserve any of this?
