Come let us mock at the great
\nThat had such burdens on the mind
\nAnd toiled so hard and late
\nTo leave some monument behind,
\nNor thought of the levelling wind.<\/p>\n

Come let us mock at the wise;
\nWith all those calendars whereon
\nThey fixed old aching eyes,
\nThey never saw how seasons run,
\nAnd now but gape at the sun.<\/p>\n

Come let us mock at the good
\nThat fancied goodness might be gay,
\nAnd sick of solitude
\nMight proclaim a holiday:
\nWind shrieked\u2014and where are they?<\/p>\n

Mock mockers after that
\nThat would not lift a hand maybe
\nTo help good, wise or great
\nTo bar that foul storm out, for we
\nTraffic in mockery.<\/p>\n
