O, guiding night;<\/div>\n
O, night more lovely than the dawn;<\/div>\n
O, night that hast united<\/div>\n
The lover with His beloved,<\/div>\n
And changed her into her love.<\/div>\n

On my flowery bosom,<\/div>\n
Kept whole for Him alone,<\/div>\n
There He reposed and slept;<\/div>\n
And I cherished Him, and the waving<\/div>\n
Of the cedars fanned Him.<\/div>\n

As His hair floated in the breeze<\/div>\n
That from the turret blew,<\/div>\n
He struck me on the neck<\/div>\n
With His gentle hand,<\/div>\n
And all sensation left me.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
I continued in oblivion lost,<\/div>\n
My head was resting on my love;<\/div>\n
Lost to all things and myself,<\/div>\n
And, amid the lilies forgotten,<\/div>\n
Threw all my cares away.<\/div>\n
