do u guys pray the luminous mysteries on the Rosary? why or why not.

i never do. the original 3 mysteries perfectly mirror the 150 psalms (15 decades, 150 Hail Marys) and were instituted by Mary herself. the pope who invented luminous mysteries just wanted to leave his mark and there's no justification for it. it's also awkward with scheduling cause u just throw the Luminous on thursday.

having said that i do like the mysteries presented in Luminous hermmmmmmm

just came across this post on reddit

The Rosary is a devotion and not a sacrament. There have been many modifications to the Rosary for devotional purposes. for example, the 7 Sorrows of Mary Rosary. There is also a more ancient form of the Rosary that was more popular in the East. it's called the Rule of the Theotokos. It has a few of the Luminous Mysteries in there.

To go by Marshall's points

  1. isn't it completely possible that Our Lady inspired St. JPII to put together the Luminous Mysteries? I think we can all agree (besides a few people) that he was an extremely holy man with a deep and sincere love for Our Mother.
  2. where does it say that the Rosary is strictly 15 decades? That nothing can be modified. If so, any way that you modify the Rosary for personal devotion is no good. If you want to be puritanical, be fully puritanical.
  3. again, the nod to modifications on the Rosary. Rosary of the Holy Wounds, St. Anthony's Rosary, Servite Rosary.
To be heretical would to be to go against Catholic teaching. The Rosary is a devotion and not dogma. The Luminous Mysteries in no way go against what the church has taught.

GOOD ENUFF FOR ME :banana::greenbird::clap:

Luminous Mysteries are IN. puritanical fags who reject them are on suicide watch. LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOO :lfg::lfg::lfg:

mysteries rank'd:

1. sorrowful
2. luminous (fuck yea)
3. glorious
4. joyful (ain't nobody give a fuck bout these lets be real)

was reading Proverbs last night and this one jumped out at me:

As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart. (Proverbs 27:19)

pretty crazy to think about :weed:

also: As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7)

reading karl barth’s commentary on Romans.

bro. this nigger was serious.

definitely the best protestant theologian i’ve ever read next to kierkegaard. aside from the sola fide shit that crops up once in a while it’s definitely on point and very insightful.

he also doesnt understand what paragraphs are cause every page is a wall of text.

the infinite depth of scripture continues to confound me srs. you also notice this when u pray the Rosary regularly. somehow there’s always new insights emerging from the same biblical events contemplated ad nauseam.
