i asked pinesap about this and someone in his chat said that his hands were folded over his wrists which were then pierced. pinesap agreed with thatmy only problem with the shroud is that it shows he was pierced through his wrists. doesnt it say in the gospel that Jesus showed the wounds on his hands to thomas the doubter? hermmm
But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
The first mention of nails is in the story of Doubting Thomas, who asks to see the ‘mark of the nails in his hands’ (John 20:25), Although this may be a mistranslation (the Greek word cheir may also be translated as “wrist”)
