some english guy once got really angry at my uncle for saying "nipponese" when talking about sengoku jidai in a bar and was loudly calling him a racist, and it took other people there saying it's the japanese word for japan for him to stop. he wasn't even talking to the english guy in the first place

why would anyone who isnt an insane weeaboo ever think to say "nipponese"

i like how japanese people pronounce "UFO" phonetically instead of as an abbreviation -- "yuu-fo" instead of "you-eff-owe"
