my apologies to the mr mcdonald’s but the supreme burger experience, after everything, is freshness burger. burger king is at the bottom, followed not-so-closely by mos burger

but mayhaps mos burger will undergo reevaluation?

i had a salsa burger, vegetable soup and melon soda. the melon soda formula is completely standardised and is the same quality and taste no matter where you get it. this makes it consistently a 7/10 drink

the salsa burger is simpley a hammed burger with salsa and lots of lettuce. the meat is a lot more “real” feeling than mcdonald’s, but without having the boring “grey” just-meat taste most expensive burger places have. it’s seasoned similarly to mcdonald’s but with the little bit of toughness that comes with higher quality beef. the lettuce doesn’t bring much taste or texture, which is good because i don’t like vegetables. it just means slight health added to the meal without affecting the food negatively. the salsa is not spicy in the slightest and is, like most sweet things in japan. filled with too much sugar. there’s a slight plastic-y manufactured texture which is only fueled by the amount of sugar. when mixed in with everything, it acts as a somewhat pleasant dressing rather than a sauce, but when you a take a bite with monkey the meat & salsa it sticks out with its machinery texture. the bun is a regular sloppy burger bun, although presented in a much neater fashion than overseas. it is japan however, so there’s sugar in the bread too. 7/10

the vegetable soup is basically just chopped carrots, lettuce and eggplant* boiled and poured into a small coffee cup. it’s probably healthy, doesn’t have much sugar, i had the whole thing no problem. completely pointless as a menu item and there’s no taste to it. you could just buy some vegetable mix from a konbini then put it into a bowl, pour boiling water from the kettle and cover it for a few minutes. that would probably be cheaper, but i already forgot what everything costs. 3/10

the atmosphere of the place is a lot more welcoming and not as intimidating as i’d feared. i worry about going to ramen places as they feel like places you can only go to if you’re already familiar with them and that not speaking good enough japanese makes you a hassle for staff. this place completely avoids that, and this freshness burger in particular is rather quiet, which is nice. mos burger only partially felt comfortable to be in. mcdonald’s felt evil

anyway. shut up? i’ll get other burgers here soon

*i’m not sure what the 3rd one is, but there was purple skin on a couple of the chunks so that’s my assumption
