I'm not sure if it was an attempt to be edgy. The swastika is a symbol that has existed for centuries and is associated with Buddhism (even today it is still used without malice). But the Nazis changed that. As much as I'd like it to be reclaimed in the west, it's going to take years, probably centuries, before that happens. And I cannot really advocate the placement on the cover of this album.
