my first anime was nichijou followed by the monogatari series during my formative internet years. i used kissanime on a chromebook

if my first had been something like onepiece or dbz i could have ended up being into sports or something. scary to think :kopfschuettel:

skating is cool
fencing is cool
hockey is cool
サッカー is cool
rugby is gay
rugby sucks
people who play rugby are annoying
i hate rugby
i hate people who watch rugby

i should watch some sports anime but it feels like all of them are just you waiting for the main person to become the best at the thing or win whatever competition for the thing and it doesn't matter what dramatic things happen cause you know it's gonna get dealt with anyway, and when you watch them playing the sport you're mostly just waiting for them to win. that's part of why sk8 is so rad, cause it's just full-butthole-retarded, filled with tony hawk special moves in a secret underground multi-millionaire funded illegal skating tournament

i feel like most action anime are the same with how you just wait for the Good Guys to win. i liked raildex for all of the social parts and worldbuilding and slice of life parts, but so much of it is monologuing during predictable fight scenes where you wait anywhere from 5 minutes to 5 whole episodes for it to just move on

forgot what point i was making. not sure i was making a point in the first place

bakemonogatari was also one of the first anime i watched on a streaming site. it was on the front page because it was new-ish

although a couple years before that i watched school days and elfen lied on crunchyroll because someone directly linked me
