should i play pathologic or pathologic 2 :erm:
Pathologic 2.

By its own constant admission Pathologic 2 is a restaging of the first game. It wants you to think of it as equivalent to something like a stage production inside your computer. 2 is the more elaborate production of 1, with a higher budget, more experience, lessons learned, and so on. They do play off of things they did the first time. But not to the point you'll be alienated if you didn't play it. If you want to appreciate the difference you could play Pathologic 1 for like an hour until you really feel like you're suffering, then start 2 and appreciate all the comments about how rough the last show was.

Of course you're meant to be suffering even in an ideal production, because that's what Pathologic is. But in 2 it feels more like an expressive work about stress and fighting a hostile world, and less like feeling anxious because you're watching a show in some weird dingy place that feels like a fire hazard.

Short answer is play Pathologic 2.

i know everyone says to play pathologic 2 because it's more accessible, but pathologic seems... deeper
mostly with regard to the plot and conclusion

can u really get the full experience only playing as haruspex? if i am going to play pathologic, i'm willing to torture myself

You get an experience playing Haruspex. You can always go back to 1 and play Bachelor and Changeling afterwards.

wuts ur Favorite Video Game? how did it affect u?
Definitely Devil May Cry 3 on the PS2. I'd say it's Catholic and biblical themes (Dante and Vergil are like Cain and Abel plus the environments and tower levels/ monsters are literally from Dante's inferno) this game is what EVENTUALLY led me to becoming a Catholic I believe but it's also just a good game that appealed to my autism because I always loved fast hack & slash games. I discovered all of this biblical lore as an adult but I just always knew that this game is more than meets the eye as a child I never knew how to articulate it tho. The likable characters, the environments, the intricate combat system which you can enjoy casually but feel GREAT when you master it and the fucking music. Just EPIC galore over all 10/10 when you understand it, a tribute to our christian history imo. Only japs could make such a W game ❤️

My understanding is that Brawl's characteristic "floatiness" was basically a matter of tuning, readily revised by Project M because the character physics were implemented almost identically to Melee's in-engine (weight, air friction, etc. were all quantified the same way).

So whether or not Melee's iconic spastic technical movement was Sakurai's specific vision, somebody other than the lead programmer made a conscious decision to remove it from Brawl, rather than it just not being created in the first place because of a particular programmer's absence.

you're just speculating, right? i was under the impression that project M just approximates melee's physics (as opposed to literally being melee physics)
