I can't name anything off the top of my head but I mean "Avant-Garde" music in general. It was 2016 dawg I had just come out of listening to Dragonforce

didn't really feel much of anything with this so i'm not sure what to say. hated the startk because opera singing is one of the most vile noises imaginable. for most of it i felt like i was listening to those preview showcases for sound effects cds and i didn't care for the chamber stuff at all, it reminded me of the stuff they put in cartoons 70 years ago

found it really boring overall. there was one part of it that i liked, and it turned out that was the end of the album. where it abruptly cuts off the only part i wanted to listen to. cool

a movie club thread would be cool but i'm not sure how the rotation would work. per month seems a bit much in terms of rotating for users. especially if someone picks something you've already seen, especially especially if you've seen and don't like it, but 2 weeks is definitely too short. i used to download at least one film from avistaz almost every night but in the past 2 or 3 years i feel like i've not even seen 20 new films altogether

The chant in the beginning was cool and i guess the birds and windchimes were also cool but like

it's fucking birds and wind chimes

overrall it felt kinda spooky and the ambience was cool but i probably wouldn't listen to it again unless i wanted to creep myself out or something like that. i should probably listen again to see if it /clicks/

Wyrmwoods - Spirit & Teeth

there was a period of a year or two where i was listening to as much new black metal albums as i could. i must have heard at least 200 albums during that time. this one may have been the single most memorable out of them all. what i assumed was going to be fairly standard atmospheric black metal turned out to be one of the most spastic things i'd heard in the genre

a lot of outside influences and melody, both without straying into hipster gaylord deafheaven territory and straddles a very un-fine line between repetition and spaz-jazz. if you told me this was a j-rock band like school food punishment attempting to make black metal i would believe you. something about the fake jazz and overall production on here just feels very japanese. Let me know if you agree in the comments below and let's hit 40 likes on this video

i struggled to pick between this and the next wymwoods album, the next album has more Rawkin Riffs and psychedelia, but i decided on this one because it has less post-rock and one of my favorite metal tracks
