i think im gonna make further edits to the lain banner by taking the overall silhouette and filling it with white and then copy/pasting it slightly to the left and right and then applying a horizontal linear motion blur, so the background is transparent/semi-transparent at the sides/edges but white like the original ps1 game cover towards the middle. and the actual game cover is covered in opaque text which i should also add but i was too lazy since i'd need to come up with something funny for it
if you are wondering why the blood smear is different (you're not) it's because the game seems to have changed the smear to look less realistic maybe for censorship reasons? the one on the game cover art doesn't seem to be available outside of copies of the game cover art, leading me to believe it was created by the person who made the game cover art (as a modification of the original art). i actually think the game one looks cooler, but i would have to make major editing efforts to apply it
