it doesn't look like they lived too far from each other, so he probably did it because he was on the run and just wanted to kill nick. driving immediately from his house to nick's would've taken 20-30 minutes but he got there ~2 hours after the original call for his triple homicide. i guess he might've laid low and waited for the cops to die down. but people noted that he wasn't shaking, and the casual "yo, nick!" while at his door does lend to the theory that it was planned
