i have to wash my hands after petting any dog before i can do anything else, unless it's one of those tiny dogs (= not a real dog)

i have the same thing (very faint, long scar on my inner forearm from my cat that died like 2 years ago)
the scar itself is from over 10 years ago when i was carrying him and he jumped out of my arms to the cat tree. a claw from his hind foot as he boosted himself is wat cut me
