All they have to do is get either a dark haired woman or a black guy who can speak like a human being and dress sensibly to say the responsible, adults in the room talking points they're trying to feed to Biden and they'd probably win over Trump. People just want to think "ah, good, politicians are back!" but instead it's this fucking clownshow. They don't have to promise anything. Just look right. I believe this. And can't understand how they just let Biden coast to another election. The entire democrat party is apparently like me, just letting their life fester and burn and not doing anything about it as disaster after disaster sweeps in.

Ironically Kamala Harris was right about the debate. The people really don't even matter. Voting barely matters. It's just the broad strokes. Trump will broadly get America better deals and end war and Biden will broadly fight for abortion and minorities. Both candidates will have massive overlap and have minimal personal influence.

Another democrat would have to spend months attacking the record and/or the character of the incumbent president, explaining why it should be him instead, and not anyone else. Even if we could skip the primary voting, candidates still have to court allies and donors.

The allotted time for this is between admins when there's no clear front-runner and everyone can focus on the last 4 to 8 years of opposition blunders. This is also when party elites and financiers are free to recommit resources on their own preferred terms.

There's no room for foresight here. If Biden is strong enough to be president, he gets material support from the party. If he's too weak to be president, it's already over. If an alternative candidate could get that support and build their profile when it didn't actually matter, they could replace Biden. But they can't. So it's already over.

Oh yeah, process. The white house has such respect for process. The world isn't a video game. You can arbitrarily do whatever the fuck you want. Of all the steps they could trip or fail, this seems like the most absurd place to suggest they'll have issues. The technical process of removing Biden. That's the easy part. The hard part is campaigning after such a visible disaster. Their current internal debate is probably "what looks worse, running sleepy joe or removing sleepy joe?".

but it would probably be a better move to not run him in the first place
