i'm about halfway through planescape torment's primary plot right now. maybe a little less than half way.

the combat is really bad, and it's constant. when people say there isn't combat, they mean the combat that happens constantly doesn't count as real combat. but it's still happening constantly, and it's really awkward and bad. the game would be vastly improved if the creators didn't decide to make NPCs attack you unprovoked in almost every single location.

the plot has not impressed me at all so far. there has not been anything "deep" and the writing is middlebrow to lowbrow

I wanted to refute this but I played it more than 10 years ago so I don't remember almost anything. I liked the towns and the skull, the ratwoman and succubus companions. I remember the combat being tedious, especially in the desert level.
