feeling like it's a real world instead of just jumping between different levels and locations and knowing where something is by seeing it from the other side of the world directly affects how it feels to play it. that's part of why dark souls 2 is one of the worst things i've ever played

The only challenge in DS1 is that the corridors are so narrow you can't attack and that sometimes it's too dark to see anything. The world looks like a random asset dump and if you feel that it's realistic in any way ur insane. DS 2 is better if you disagree u watch too much tranny video essays. DS3 and Elden Ring are both the peak of the genre, with Lies of P being pretty close.

It may be controversial but it is also true. It's not a coincidence From built on that instead of 1 going forward. The Scholar edition ruined it tho.

i've never played a souls game but idk what you're referring to when you talk about tranny video essayists. i watch tranny/communist video essayists constantly and they tend to take unpopular positions. normie/chad video essayists are the ones who state the obvious.

dark souls 2 is just brainless uncreative action game with artificial difficulty and horrible feeling movement and might as well not count as a dark souls game. the retarded enemy lock-on and weightless combat is gay and the intro is gay and enemies disappearing after killing them "too much" is gay and different areas being very blatantly not where you actually see them in the backgrounds of other areas is gay. dark souls 1 has horrible boring combat and is mind drainingly repetitive but at least it had a heavy atmosphere, subtlety, and reasons to explore the place that aren't just getting to the next level. the only reason i played it to completion was so i could look around more and see what i could figure out things about the world from the dialogue and just the map itself

DS1 had ONLY artificial difficulty. It seems to me that we agree on most things but you value "atmosphere" while I value combat. I think all three DS2 DLCs had way better atmosphere than anything in DS1 but if you agree that the combat in it sucks I'm fine with that.
