the only good elements are ripped off from stan brakhage
I don’t even remember if I finished the young pope and would not necessarily recommend. Outside of some pretty shots of the recreated Vatican City I’m not sure what the show is trying to say. The pope is an atheist but also wants to be an old school Catholic extremist and try to wield the power of the church over modern day politicians. This premise doesn’t interest me much and it looks like they make the pope a degen by season 2 so it’s negative payoff.Watching the young pope, p good so far. Kinda forgettable and I skip a lot of the slow scenes. Beautiful cinematography
That’s what I meant about liking the ending. I enjoyed the narrators voice and the flow of the film too, but mostly it was the mix of music, animation, and photography. It was also probably one of the first experimental animated films I had seen, so I appreciate that. I agree though i remember it being cringe when they get into talking about death or abuse or anything that’s not meant to be comical reallythe only good elements are ripped off from stan brakhage
i liked some of the look of it and the aspects that were taken from se7en and silence of the lambs, that's it. it was slow, cringe, and lifeless.first 2/3rds of longlegs was ok but the ending sucked. i do want to rewatch silence of the lambs now
