but everything he recorded is the pinnacle of what i mean by old sounding quality. it's all very lightly distorted and extremely flat sounding, it sounds like it's missing a bunch of frequencies or something. in his case it sounds like that so heavily that it works like a wall between me and the music and i get no feeling from it. joe meek is similar, but telstar and johnny remember me are a lot less dense sounding, the instruments have a little more definition in them. but it still sounds like ass despite the actual cool sounds being created

sounds like you enjoy things that are bad and are made for stupid people instead of things that are good and made for smart people

it really seems like you don't comprehend that what i'm talking about has nothing to do with the actual songs, creative choices or producers

surely you can tell the incredibly massive difference between the recording quality of the original wipe out and the ventures version, both recorded in the same year, played in the same style and mixed in the same way

sometimes i get the impulse to listen to faust s/t out of nowhere. this doesn't happen to me with the vast majority of even my "favourite" albums
